Jean Ranallo, a familiar figure to all who drive SR 776 and see her holding up a peace sign, will be honored by the Englewood Democratic Club and Englewood Indivisible with a “Honk for Peace” from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the intersection of SR 776 and West Dearborn Street in Englewood, and, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM in a presentation in the Elsie Quirk Library Meeting Room.
To celebrate Ranallo’s many years of holding a "Honk for Peace" sign on SR 776 at West Dearborn Street, members of both organizations will join her in holding peace signs. Following that, everyone will move to the Elsie Quirk Library for a 1:00 – 2:30 PM celebration honoring Jean for her dedication to promoting peace.
Community fans of Ranallo's are welcome to participate. Signs will be provided.
Rosemary Hagen, who proposed the celebration, and Dick Nelson will speak at the celebration. Both Hagen and Nelson are veteran peace sign holders at the Dearborn-776 intersection.
