Englewood Indivisible Announces Endorsements of Candidates and Amendments

Englewood Indivisible members have voted to endorse a slate of Democratic candidates for election in November. Members also voted to endorse Amendments that will appear on the ballot.

The endorsed candidates include:

  • Sen. Bill Nelson for U.S. Senate
  • April Freeman for Congress District 17*
  • Andrew Gillum for Governor
  • Sean Shaw for Attorney General
  • Nikki (Nicole) Fried for Commissioner of Agriculture
  • Jeremy Ring for CFO
  • Joan Valentine Fischer for Charlotte County Commission District 4

Earlier, Englewood Indivisible members endorsed:

  • Olivia Babis for State Senate District 23
  • Tony Mowry for State House District 74
  • Ruta Maria Jouniari for Sarasota County Commission District 2
  • Wesley Anne Beggs for Sarasota County Commission District 4
  • Cara Reynolds for Charlotte County School Board District 1

Indivisible members endorsed Amendments 3, 4, 9, 12 and 13. 

Englewood Indivisible is a nonpartisan group and members were offered a ballot that included both Democratic and Republican candidates for all the statewide offices,  and for United States Senator and Representative in Congress. Nevertheless members voted unanimously for the Democratic candidates for federal and statewide offices.

*April Freeman passed away on September 24th. The Florida Democratic Party has named Allen Ellison of Sebring to replace her. Freeman's name will remain on the ballot but votes for her will go to Ellison.
